Clarification of the Usage of the Word Douchebag in Reference to Durant

I seldom use this word if ever. But it amused me when of all people Berry Tramel used it on air on the Sports Animal in reference to Kevin Durant. I would guess offhand Tramel has never uttered an F bomb in his entire life except maybe that one time when Little House on the Prarie was cancelled. I assume what put Tramel over the top was the Howard Beck piece where either Durant or one of his unnamed groupies in his entourage threw Russell Westbrook under the bus as to why Durant ultimately decided to play for the Oakland AAU team.

Do I think Durant is a douchebag? It would be hard for me to answer yes to this all things considered since I cried when I heard his MVP speech and was moved when he donated a million dollars to the tornado relief fund in Moore, Oklahoma.

But again, I think Durant was incredibly weak in the manner in which he handled his decision and in no way should Russell Westbrook have been thrown under the bus.

I was at midcourt for Game 6. Kevin Durant went 10-31 and was basically awful in the biggest game of his professional career. My take is if you’re going to switch teams then fine, but don’t throw your friend under the bus using an unnamed source in the aftermath.

Douchebag stays on the previous title line.

Westbrook Signs Extension Becoming the Face of the Franchise For Now

Who would have thought this several years ago? Durant was supposed to be the one who would stay, but instead turned into the typical douchebag we see far too much of in sports nowadays. BTW, Tramel did indeed call Durant a douchebag several weeks ago then begged off saying he didn’t even know what the word meant.

C’mon, Tramel. It you’re gonna say it, then live with your words. Don’t be a prude.

I’m fairly certain I know what the word means and how unfortunate it is Durant turned out to be the typical pro sports douchebag while Russell Westbrook for at least the next two years is going to see where all this can lead in Oklahoma City.

Russell Westbrook now becomes the official face of the Oklahoma City Thunder for at least a while. He stayed when it was really a very big deal he did stay for every person residing in the state of Oklahoma.

It’s been a brutal year in Oklahoma City. The price of oil cratered and thousands of jobs have been lost in this city. The state faces a $1.3 billion shortfall. The state of Oklahoma currently ranks dead last in education. One of the city’s leading visionaires Aubrey McClendon died in a car crash. Kevin Durant took the easy way out and became a Warrior when he didn’t have to be a douchebag and could have just signed a one year extension.

But Russell Westbrook has decided he might stay a bit longer and see what this team can be.

Gone are Durant, Ibaka, and Waiters having been replaced with Oladipo, Ilyasova, Sabonis, and Abrines. But here’s the thing, the way basketball is played currently in the NBA it’s very much a point guard league. And the Thunder just retained one of the two best point guards in this league.

The Green Bay Packers are my favorite NFL team. The OKC Thunder are my favorite NBA team. I feel much better now knowing my two favorite teams still have Aaron Rodgers and Russell Westbrook in place.

You have to be realistic though. The whorish super team in Oakland is clearly the team to beat in the Western Conference. But today was a great day in Oklahoma. The kid I used to call Wild Thing showed us there’s still a reason to hope. Showed us he’s the one who’s still here and appears to actually be somewhat fond of the place.

Nothing in pro sports is permanent. We should never put athletes on a pedestal…ever. But Russell Westbrook made everyone in Oklahoma City feel a little bit better today not only about the Thunder, but about the city as well.

Made us feel better about ourselves and the immediate future. It’s funny how sports can galvanize a city or a community and make everyone forget their problems. But that’s just what Russell Westbrook did today.

Good for him.

Russell Westbrook Reported to Sign Three Year Extension With Thunder

Various sources have Russell Westbrook signing a three extension with the Thunder on Thursday. This would indeed be wonderful for the Thunder and Oklahoma City as a whole. It’s been a year of one gut punch after another for Oklahoma City, but this is great news. Just great news. With a core of Westbrook, Adams, and Oladipo the Thunder will remain relevant and if they could perhaps lure Blake Griffin back home next summer when he enters his first unrestricted free agency then the Thunder would be championship contenders once again.

Who would have thought it would be Russell ending up owning the city while Durant snuck off in the dark of night to be with his crotch magnet buddy Draymond Green taking the easiest path to a ring with the AAU team.

Maybe the Hal Smith Group will reopen the restaurant calling it Russell’s.

Anyway, thank you, Russell Westbrook.

Bill Maher Toying With the GOP Golden Child

At some point you just have to laugh. You have to think yourself could if be worse than if Sarah Palin were the GOP nominee for president…and of course as we all see now the answer is yes–it could be worse.

What can you really say at this point other than of course John Kasich should be the GOP nominee for president. Absolutely amazing…in every poll Kasich beats Hillary Clinton and yet Republicans choose this idiot. When Hillary is nominating those Supreme Court justices just remember who told you so.
