After Dark

The seeding games are over for the Thunder. They finish 4-4 and are the fourth seed in the West. OKC will face the Houston Rockets, but both Russell Westbrook and Lu Dort are questionable healthwise to start this series of real games for the first time since March.

This is why it’s hard to be an NBA fan at times. Five months of sitting around doing pretty much nothing and when the lights come on for real without fans two of the more compelling players in this series may be watching.

Yawn.

  1. Hey, after months of no sports it is pretty good to see these guys play as well as they are. The play-in game to day with Portland and Memphis was fun! I think it will pick-up now that the games really count.

  2. CJ McConnell was clutch. In reality…the Memphis vs. Portland game was the first game which gave the feel of some drama of some sort. It waa the first time a game even approached Shark Week level intensity. Each team should be allowed to have a mercenary ultra over the top fan base sit behind their respective benches. Your brother and I did this at OU on Billy’s Baseline. Rabid, enthusiastic fans of five hundred in number should be spaced behind each team’s bench.

The best basketball crowds I ever sat in at Gallagher-Iba were only around 5,000. Sam Presti should put me in charge of this.
