Here’s James Mattis giving his two cents on Donald Trump avoiding serving his country due to bone spurs. So when you see all the American flags around a Terry Neese sign in Oklahoma or some clueless bullshit in Alabama you should at least be aware of the fact your president is a coward who never a day in his life served his country.

Eventful day. The other three cowards were rightfully charged in the murder of George Floyd.

President Obama rightfully assumed the bully pulpit of national leadership since we currently have no president.

Former Sec Def James Mattis called out Trump as the white trash punk he clearly is.

Current Sec Def Mark Esper pretty much did the same and then didn’t when he was told to kiss the emperor’s ring.

There’s always going to be racism in this country. It should get better after this generation which spawned Donald Trump has left this earth. But there will always be bigots.

You cannot allow yourself to be dragged down by ignorant white people or ignorant people of any color.

Rise above it.

If you have to compete within yourself and your inner circle of friends who see the world as you do… then so be it.

But firstmost…be true to your core beliefs. This doesn’t mean you just wilt and always turn the other cheek. But be true to yourself.

As Sidney Poitier said in that epic scene from Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner, ” Dad, you see yourself as a colored man. I see myself as a man.”

It may be unfair, but black people have to be better. Sports and entertainment have both been venues where this has happened in a great way. Obama took it to a new level as a two term president. But look what happened in his aftermath.

The country elected an openly racist ignorant reality television star. Go figure.

These white people elected a man Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Dwight Eisenhower, Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan, Bush 41, Bush 43, John McCain, and Mitt Romney would or do think is an utter joke and a pathetic human. But this is where the country is at this specific place in time.

I think he’s a pathetic human. My father would have found Donald Trump to be a pathetic human. My father’s law partners would have found Trump to be pathetic.

My mother can’t stand the human Donald Trump. Any person who in any way lives the Golden Rule can’t stand Donald Trump.

But you cannot allow yourself to be defined by a person like this president.

Be better. Be smarter, Be tougher. Be better parents. Redefine the next generation of Americans.

But most of all…rise above it.

The Thunder put out a statement on their take on racial injustice in our country. To be frank, I’ve seen the Thunder do some really positive things in our state to help people of all colors. I know in reality both Clay Bennett and Sam Presti could never publicly say what they think about Donald Trump given the political breakdown of the people who buy their tickets.

I would guess Clay Bennett to be a Marco Rubio or Jeb Bush type of Heritage Foundation guy. I’m not sure about Presti in that he’s so closed to the media except for the rare pressers he gives now and then. But I would guess privately he has little love for Trump.

Presti doesn’t strike me as one who could tolerate the absolute and total ignorance of Donald Trump. I think he actually has a history and business degree as I do. We’d probably hit it off in a great way. But you know… he has this thing with Little Nick Gallo.

The Thunder released a statement yesterday. This is the last paragraph of the statement:

‘We believe that change starts by leading through love, empathy, understanding and leaning on the relationships that we have in place to continue to create a positive impact.’

I heard this on the radio today and said to myself, “That should be my After Dark song tonight.”

I went to this concert in 1975 if I remember correctly. It was at a jam packed Lloyd Noble Arena. I went with this girl who ask me and it was a one date deal. I was a wild little fucker for several years back then in the day.

I mean…I pray to God my son didn’t do these same things. I don’t even tell Pauli some of the things I did.

But you meet a girl like Minnie Driver in Goodwill Hunting. You fall in love. And you go drive out to Auburn and bring her back where she has to watch Big 12 football. We will retire in an SEC state despite all the snarky things I’ve written about Trump on this blog.

If it turns out to be Melbourne, Florida we’ll be Gator Nation. If it’s Montgomery, Alabama…we’ll be War Eagle fans.

Tim Scott is the only black member of the GOP currently serving in the United States Senate. I like him, but I can’t in reality believe he can stay in the same party which elected a Birther racist to the White House.

The political argument the GOP is the party of fiscal restraint is complete and utter bullshit. The fiscal conduct of this White House is the most shameful in American history. Bar none. Period.

Even before the coronavirus, this country under Trump’s tax giveaway to our wealthiest people was in the process of running its third straight deficit of more than a trillion dollars.

Even before the coronavirus this year… GDP’s projected increase was going to fall in the range of 1.9 to 2.1 per cent. Granted it appears most rural whites in the GOP don’t do math or science…this was going nowhere. Even Fed Chair Jerome Powell would admit as much.

Dude…I love some of the things you’re saying, but in truth I can’t believe any black person in this country could be a member of the same party which nominated an overt racist to the White House.

I’m not calling you out as an Uncle Tom per se, but I’m just suggesting that as a man with black skin you might want to re-evaluate your party affiliation.

You don’t have to become a Democrat. I didn’t think for two minutes about becoming a Democrat in 2000 when I left the GOP.

But there is just no way any American with a brain and the ability to read could endorse Donald Trump to remain in the White House for another four years.

Tim Scott, make me proud. Endorse Joe Biden to be the next president. History would be kind to you. I promise.

So in the midst of a pandemic, a Great Depression, and riots in the streets of Oklahoma City…I turned into Nichols Hills on Saturday and went thru Nichols Hills on Grand Boulevard by the park.

Probably the most austere street in Oklahoma City.

Up ahead of me I see this beautiful black woman in tight tights walking on the park sidewalk. I pull up alongside her and let out a “”Whoa, baby.”

She turns her head smiling and she’s a man.

So I just kind of ease down the road and this song starts playing in my head.
