Pence, McConnell, and Pompeo Should Invoke 25th Amendment In The Next 24 Hours

The end.

The gong show is done in Washington D.C. This freak reality television show called the Trump Presidency should exist no later than noon tomorrow.

Mike Pence, Mitch McConnell, and Mike Pompeo should together meet with the Chief Grifter tonight and demand his resignation effective immediately. Maybe the three of them together can equal one Howard Baker telling Richard Nixon he has to vacate the White House.

This person does not have the mental compacity to finish these remaining two weeks in office.

Donald Trump has proved beyond any reasonable doubt he should have been impeached back in January 2020. It was an absolute disgrace as to what transpired in our nation’s capitol today. Just an asolute disgrace because the purported Commander in Chief in essence incited this act of domestic terrorism upon our own nation’s legislative branch.

What’s next…this collective group of losers taking over the United States Supreme Court and kidnapping Chief Justice John Roberts?

They should have been tear gassed and arrested in mass. If they had been black they would have been shot in the back or killed in some other manner.

Think about what George Floyd did in relative comparison to what these people did today as the House and Senate were trying to consumate the vote in the Electoral College. Tell every brown and black person in this country there isn’t an acute law enforcement double standard in the this country.

In my life what I witnessed today was the most pathetic act I’ve ever seen from a U.S. president in my lifetime.

Donald Trump has no soul. No conscious. Nothing.

Send him home and see if either Florida or New York want him there.

Today was a day when a living John McCain would have come in handy since apparently there isn’t a Republican in D.C. with a brain, a set of balls, or a soul.

Enough already.

Dave Chappelle, Ted Cruz, the Georgia Bulldogs…And Other Random Thoughts

Dave Chappelle Brilliantly Picks Apart Poor White People That Voted For Trump – YouTube

Sigh.

It appears members of the Trump base are charging our nation’s capitol after Caligula stoked them up with his standard Jerry Springer pep talk.

You’ll notice I don’t use the word ‘Deplorables’. I have family members and friends who voted for this dipshit twice. This is a slippery slope for me moving forward.

It’s a real conundrum of sorts for sure. I mean it’s not like I’m some angel or moral guardian type. But I do have certain bounds of personal untethered stupidity I’ve tried not to cross since my son was born in 1988.

I kind of grew up a little then and stopped acting like I was still in college. And that’s my whole problem with Trump…at the age of seventy-four he stills behaves like the fourth grade spoiled prick he was when he was nine years old.

Ted Cruz. As much as I hate Trump…I hate Lyin’ Ted Cruz even more. If you ever want to see visual evidence that a Harvard Law School degree isn’t all it’s cracked up to be…watch this idiot present an oral argument for more than two sentences. Bob Jackson would eviserate this mofo in a criminal case courtroom. Literally chew him up and spit him out on the floor in front of the judge.

The Georgia Bulldogs. They just became my favorite SEC team even though Kirby Smart always has some of the worst offenses in the country with five star talent. Stacy Abrams..I love you, girl. Could you come to Oklahoma and get rid of these two dumbasses we have as U.S. senators?

Moving forward…what do we do with around thirty million or so of these Trump base zombies?

Do we we create Jim Crow laws for these whites so as to keep them removed from the other three-hundred million of us who aren’t going to secede?

I don’t know. That’s a tough one. Maybe we should put them in cages and remove them from their families.

Anyway…we’re not calling anyone a Deplorable moving forward. Hillary should never have done that..

We’re all in this together until the first shot is fired at Fort Sumpter.

God bless, America and the Union.

Georgia Voters Make Mitch McConnell Minority Leader Op-Ed

I’m trying to avoid writing too much about Donald Trump and his base these days. When you live in an abyss of political/cultural stupidity like Oklahoma it is best to try and ignore the fact you live in a state which might very well make Mike Gundy its next United States senator if James Lankford ascends to the presidency in 2024.

But at least there’s always Alabama with their own dumb as a sack of rocks issue with Tommy Tuberville to give the appearance Oklahoma is only the second most ignorant state in what as of this morning is still the Union.

We’ll have to see what happens later today on the floor of the United States Senate as the twelve GOP senators take to the floor to pledge their eternal fealty to Donald Trump in exchange for his more dubious racist voters in future GOP primaries as presidential hopefuls in 2024.

This used to be the void the Jerry Springer Live show played in America’s effort to keep lower class uneducated whites occupied, but now it’s just called Trump’s Republican Party.

It’s hard to feel sorry for these lowlife racist creeps the morning after they lost control of the United States Senate because the ever lasting damage they’ve done to our constitution and democracy to what was once known as the United States of America will go far beyond my lifetime. Far beyond theirs to be factual.

During these past four years the fifty-three Republican senators maybe minus Mitt Romney from Utah and Ben Sasse from Nebraska not only enabled Donald Trump, but in the process destroyed the quaint duel notions of American exceptionalism and aspirationalism.

Instead what the Senate became is a place where Mitch McConnell could redo the federal judiciary at both the Supreme Court level and throughout the federal court system as well to ensure twenty years down the road America is the template for economic apartheid.

That’s what all this has been about these past four years in preparation of twenty years down the road when whites become a minority race in America.

This is what the Koch Brothers hired Mitch McConnell to accomplish and to his credit he pulled it off even if in the process they destroyed all the elements which made America the greatest experiment in democracy to date.

Mitch McConnell kissed the Pussy Grabber’s ring for the tax cuts and federal judiciary appointments and in the end was slayed by the man who replaced Jerry Springer as the titular face of extreme white dysfunction in America.

You could even say Pussy Grabber and McConnell slayed each other simultaneously. Imagine Fredo slaying Michael as he slid into the cold water.

There is a Godfather-like fairness to the way this went down in Georgia after the shit show Donald Trump phone call which was shared to all by the state’s secretary of state this week-end.

House of Cards never went this far.

So here the racist Bithers sit the morning after with Joe Biden as president, Nancy Pelosi as the House majority leader, and Chuck Schumer as the Senate majority leader.

Moral of the story?

This is what happens when the viewers of reality television find a Birther candidate to replace their Jerry Springer daily fix and embrace him to the bitter end.

Karma can be a cold hearted bitch.

I’m guessing Kamala Harris has an enormous grin on her face this January morning.

I wonder if Mike Pence will still feel after today’s freak show if his boss was this generation’s Teddy Roosevelt?

In closing…if you voted for Donald Trump twice you should ban yourself for life from participating in national elections.

Seriously.

Johnathan Kuminga Highlight Mix

Six games in and the Thunder are exactly where they want to be…No. 15 in the Western Conference standings and in the bottom five of the NBA overall. Clearly–the Thunder are on the path to selecting a top five player in this summer’s 2021 draft.

Don’t forget the Thunder have Houston’s first round pick which is only protected 1-4 if I have all of this right in my overworked sports mind. Lots of data up there working…lots of data. Houston could very well implode and have a pick somewhere in the 9-12 range in the draft.

I still have Cade Cunningham 1 and Evan Mobley 2, but I’m thinking at this point the Thunder’s strength in this youth nucleous is at the guard position with SGA, Dort, Maledon, and the stud athlete Diallo.

Bazely is what I would describe as a hybrid forward who can play either the 3 or the 4 … so what if Sam Presti brought another hybrid forward on board to give the Thunder an unthinkable scoring tandem at the forward position.

Bazely…BTW is getting better every time he takes the floor and has that Tyler Herro smirk which I just love…so he’s not going anywhere. He’s at the nexus of the Thunder core moving forward. Would Bazely at some point embrace the Lamar Odom sixth man role if Sam Presti drafted Congonesian Johnathan Kuminga as the starting five hybrid forward? Or vice versa?

Team building is the fun part of tanking and going something like 12-60 in a shortened 72 game schedule.

I read some nonsense after the Thunder won their second game that they could be a periphery playoff team this season. Excuse the language, but somebody needs to drug test that motherf—er.

This for the Thunder is about coming out of this summer’s draft with two more solid young core players to go along with Dort, Bazely, SGA, Maledon, Diallo, and perhaps in the minds of Donald Trump white supremist zombies in the Oklahoma City market… the Serbian project named Poku Pogo.

I would think Presti will at the minimum want to keep two rotational spots open for vets like Mikey Muscala and somebody like a George Hill type. Maybe Presti can find a rim protector who can shoot the ball with the Houston pick.

I would suggest not watching all the games if you’re one of these NBA newbies like most of the Thunder fans are in this market who can’t grasp the importance of the Thunder successfully carrying out this tank this season.

To again quote fellow sports sage scribe Berry Tramel, “It would be fiduciary malpractice of the highest degree for Sam Presti not to tank this NBA basketball season.”

If you can’t handle the truth then you should limit your NBA exposure this season to the Daily Thunder’s weekly crossword puzzle and leave the heavy lifting to the the people who’ve been passionately following the league for the last fifty-five years or so.

If you are one of these feckless Edmond white millenial types who do the Daily Thunder crossword puzzle then I would suggest you stick to the puzzle and drink lots of mimosas this season. Leave this to the NBA pros.

Thunder Routed In Miami By Heat, 118-90

I took a break from my blog during the last week of 2020. I was in the process of binge reading two excellent books by Isabel Wilkerson titled Warmth of Other Suns and Caste: The Origins of Our Disconects. Both were excellent reads. The first won a Pulitizer in 2010 and Caste is currently No. 1 on the NY Times non-fiction list. I would guess Bill Gates has Caste atop his list of books for 2020. Isabel is clearly a wonderful writer and storyteller.

I also watched a great deal of the better college football bowl games with an emphasis on watching all five Big 12 bowl games. What a nice surprise watching the Big 12 go 5-0 in the bowl season and an even nicer bonus in seeing the Sooners pistol-whip the punk Florida Gators 48-20.

The OU game really wasn’t that close as OU had two touchdowns called back and dropped two other deep passes which should have led to scores. OU now has a defense with fangs and has their best defensive recruiting class coming to Norman since probably the early Stoops years.

The future burns very bright for Lincoln Riley’s Sooners heading into next August. Especially bright since Kennedy Brooks is opting back in and there’s hope Ronnie Perkins will play one more season for the Sooners. I fully expect Rhamondre Stevenson to opt out and go to the NFL next season.

Trey Sermon had a wonderful national semi-final and even though the Buckeyes only played six games they were amazing in their 49-28 win over Clemson. Alabama easing past an overrated Notre Dame team was pretty much what we all thought it would be.

I like Alabama by a touchdown or so next Monday night. Saban has a week and half to game plan on how to contain Trey Sermon….which I think is the key to the game. If Trey runs wild and gives Justin Fields open passing lanes then there’s hope for the Buckeyes.

Give Mike Gundy some credit as well as his team did their annual thing by winning another fourth or fifth tier level bowl in beating the Miami Hurricanes team. Hopefully less political drama with O State’s football season next August. Spencer Sanders looked much better and I hope he finds the comfort zone in his game next season. Gotta run the ball, dude. It’s the best part of your game.

Texas fired Tom Herman. No big surprise there. I wouldn’t want that coaching job though. Too many Boones to deal with if you don’y beat OU. The Longhorn’s third coach since they forced Mack Brown to step down. Nice to see Mack doing good things in North Carolina again.

I did watch all the Thunder games during the previous week, but just opted to not write anything. It’s depressing to write too much. I mean, this is a deal where I think as fans and bloggers we have to be careful on how much of this we consume this basketball season.

The Thunder were truly awful on Monday evening in Miami in losing to the Heat by a 118-90 score. It was a brutal performance which was almost as brutal as the Thunder’s one-sided loss to New Orleans on New Years Eve.

In this one the Thunder shot 36.7% from the field and 13-48 from beyond the arc. Truly an abysmal effort which BTW shoots them down to the No. 15 slot in the current Western Conference standings.

George Hill, Big Al Horford, and Mikey Muscala went a combined 3-18 shooting the ball and scored a combined nine points as the purported pillars of veteran support for the tanking Thunder.

Conversely–the Phoenix Suns are 5-2 and look to be one of the feel good stories in the league this season with Monty Williams and Chris Paul now both in the Valley of the Sun. Monty Williams is a good dude. Pray for him and his family and be happy for him.

Sam Presti’s first round shooting phenom Poku who is something like 2-21 shooting the ball this season sat this one out due to a concussion he suffered during a Thunder practice. I would guess a missed shot richoted off the front rim and struck him in the head.

The glass half full take is Darius Bazely, Lu Dort, SGA, Theo Maledon, and Hamidou Diallo are all showing glimpses of hope here and there, but at some point they’ll need a game changer along side them to become a viable team. If I were them I wouldn’t be holding my breath for that game changer to be Poku.

On another front..in Stillwater–Cade Cunningham had a solid stat night, but fouled out as the Cowboys blew a 19 point lead against Bob Huggins’ West Virginia squad. A total coaching mismatch in this one. I have to write this as someone who’s been very kind to Mike Boynton on my blog. Huggins went small with the ‘Press Virginia’ lineup and Boynton’s team never adjusted on the fly. It was painful to observe.

The Thunder are next up on this eastern five game road swing with a Thursday night game in New Orleans to play the entertaining Pelicans.

Thunder Win Opener in Charlotte, 109-107

It was a very entertaining game for the most part. Two teams who will finish in the bottom third of the league went at it for forty-eight minutes and were tied with nine seconds left in the game.

OKC came out of the timeout… got the ball in Shai Gligeous-Alexander’s hands as he then basically nailed a two pointer to win the game, 109-107.

The game never should have come to that last shot by SGA as in a two minute and ten second span the Thunder were outscored 18-5. It was a display of total point guard dysfunction during this span as the ball was turned over five times while close out free throws were missed. But in the end on this night against a team of Charlotte’s caliber the Thunder escaped with a win.

I’m not dissing Shai. I think he’s good player who’s a hybrid guard who’s not a primary ball handler. A hybrid guard who would fit nicely with Cade Cunningham running the point for the Thunder.

Five Thunder players scored in double figures on the night with Shai leading the way with 24 points. George Hill was next in line with 21 points and some much needed maturity on the floor.

Darius Bazely had a rock solid night from my view and very much looks the part of a player who’s going to be more than just a role player as his game evolves. Kid has one of those Tyler Herro smirks. Darius could have gone to John Marshall High School. Trust me.

Lu Dort had 15 points and Mikey Muscala added 14 points and was a real positive for the Thunder. Muscala should play twenty minutes a game at least every game this season.

Theo Maledon struggled but showed some glimpses of what he can be as a guard at the NBA level.

Big Al Horford didn’t shoot much and had an unusually quiet game.

Kenrich Williams was the tenth guy and was a genuine spark plug for Coach D. I could come to love Kenrich Williams as he plays every minute like it might be his last before being cut. Kind of like Lu Dort played last year before he finally got a contract. TSN (Toughness, Smarts, Nasty… drips off of Kenrich and for that reason he’ll probably along with Dort keep me watching the Thunder as we get into the tough parts of this transitional season for the Thunder.

The Serbian Express played 11 minutes and in those minutes he was a team worse -16 and 0-6 shooting threes. He apparently doesn’t shoot anything but threes. Not one of his shots even remotely came close to the cylinder of the rim, but he keeps jacking them. They must not shoot two point shots in the Greek B league.

But otherwise I thought it was a night of positives as I watched the game imagining what Cade Cunningham and Evan Mobley would look like replacing George Hill and Al Horford next season in the Thunder’s rotation.

The only real negative for me was the Greek Serbian’s shot selection. He actually deflects a lot of balls with that reach of his. We might need to start charting his deflections on the defensive end to be fair to him.

The Thunder are 1-0 and above .500 heading into Game 2.

I think the Thunder play Utah next. The real question heading into Sunday is if the Cleveland Browns can beat the New York Jets without four of their receivers. This could only happen to the Cleveland Browns.

Enjoy the 1-0 while it lasts.

Hope Everyone Found Some Christmas Peace In This Year Of Chaos

Even on Christmas we have to deal with the situation in Nashville as a country. First thing I thought of when I saw this was the tragedy back in 1995 with the bombing in Oklahoma City when our country seemed relatively sane compared to now.

My dad was filing legal documents at the Oklahoma County courthouse and was two blocks away from the explosion when it occurred. I was working six miles away in northwest Oklahoma City and could hear the blast. These were the first things I thought about when I heard about Nashville yesterday. I hope it turns out no one was killed.

The people who did this will be brought to justice and we should all pray we don’t see too much more of this in the coming weeks throughout our country in these times of acute internal division.

We can only hope when its made public who perpetrated this act it doesn’t inflame or divide the country even moreso.

Hope everyone found some inner peace and enjoyed the Xmas time with their families.

I did. Yet when even on Christmas we have to deal with these issues of division in our country it makes me fear where the next month could take us.

Be safe and be grateful we all live in the greatest democracy with the most freedoms and liberties in the world.

NBA Rolls Out Monster Christmas Day Lineup

What a lineup of five Christmas Day games the NBA is providing all of us who are hoops junkies. Just a superb lineup of games which will help us deal with the fact the Thunder aren’t part of the NBA’s XMas day package this season.

For an addict like me..each of the five games brings something to the table.

Game 1:The New Orleans Pelicans vs. the Miami Heat gives us a matchup of the two most intriguing youngs teams in the NBA. Lest we forget the Heat are the defending Eastern Conference champions and the Pels with new head coach Stan van Gundy with a deep and talented roster could turn out to be the darlings of the West. I can’t wait to watch this game.

Game 2: Golden State Warriors vs. Milwaukee Bucks could be a view of the Golden State Warriors’ end of being relevant in the West. Steph without Klay is something we haven’t seen much of at the NBA level. The Western Conference isn’t like playing college ball at Davidson. I’ll just write this…Draymond Green, Andrew Wiggins, and Kelly Oubre all three better start bringing their big boy games to the arena because Klay Thompson did a lot of unsung things which helped make Steph Curry a two-time MVP. Being a Splash Brother isn’t the same thing as being a singular Splash Dude. Andrew Wiggins step up or start playing non-contact hockey.

Game 3: The Brooklyn Nets vs. the Boston Celtics is probably the game which will draw the highest ratings as an apparently healthy Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving begin their quest to win the East and attempt to unseat LeBron’s Lakers. Kevin Durant looked great in the opener against the Warriors. With Durant and Kyrie the Nets now have the NBA’s two most talented iso threats in the game. Surely…the Nets won’t bring James Harden on board.

As far Boston…with Tatum, Brown and Marcus Smart we know they’ll be good…but will they ever be able to take their games to the next level is my question. Because if they can’t get past the Miami Heat then what would make anyone think they’d beat the Nets in a best of seven series.

Game 4: Lebron vs. Luka. Do I need to write anything else? Has Mark Cuban put enough around Luka to make the Mavs a legitmate threat to reach the Western Conference Finals? Great coach in Rick Carlisle, great player in Luka…not sure about the supporting cast. Lakers actually appear to even be stronger on paper than the team which just won the title. In Oklahoma City the question is what do the Thunder get from the Lakers in exchange for Trevor Ariza.

Game 5: LA Clippers vs. Denver Nuggets. The Clippers were the biggest losers in either the NBA or NHL this past summer in the Bubble Championships these two leagues provided for their fans.

The Clippers choked on a 3-1 series lead versus these same Nuggets minus Jerami Grant who is now a Detroit Piston. Doc Rivers was rightfully fired and has been replaced with Ty Lue. Serge Ibaka..one of my favorite Thunder players is now a member of the Clippers.

One would think Paul George and Kawhi Leonard will be two highly motivated dudes this basketball season to at the least get to the Western Conference Finals.

The Nuggets in my view will miss Jerami Grant’s defensive versatility as the season moves along into post season play. This game should be a forecast of a rematch in the Western Conference semi-finals.

Even an NBA addict like me will not sit and watch five games in a row on Christmas Day live. I’ll be recording the games. But the two I want to watch live are Games 1 & 3.

Merry Christmas and hope you enjoy the best day of the NBA regular season.

Christmas Eve Reflections

Carrie Underwood ft John Legend – Hallelujah | HBO Max – YouTube

What a year. Probably for most Americans the toughest year since 9/11 or maybe even beyond that realm given 325,000 have died in our country who didn’t have to exit like this.

I would suggest we only have thirty days left of the worst human being who’s ever held any public office let alone the United States presidency… so maybe just get through this last month together instead of saying some things you might regret.

Take the high road at Christmas. Because at Christmas we should take the time to be introspective and within ourselves look for a higher degree of human empathy…and just basic overall decency.

If you live in Oklahoma you at some point come to love ‘some’ country music.

Six Oklahmans are currently in the Country Music Hall of Fame. Can you name them?

Vince Gill, Garth Brooks, Toby Keith, Blake Shelton, Reba, and Carrie Underwood.

Allen Jackson is my favorite male country music artist while Tulsa’s own Carrie Underwood is my favorite female artist who just happened to marry a hockey player.

So let’s look for the good in one another this Christmas and bring out the best we have in ourselves so we can get through this year together.

Merry Christmas…hope you like the song.

Harden, Rockets Can’t Field A Team In Season Opener Due To COVID-19 Protocol

In fact– in this season of the tank by Sam Presti… any game against the dysfunctional Houston Rockets is a no lose proposition for the Oklahoma City Thunder this NBA basketball season.

If the Thunder lose the game they win. If the Thunder win the game they can’t lose.

Amid all the collateral Presti acquired in the Westbrook deal with Houston for Chris Paul there’s a 2021 first round swap using either the Clippers pick or Heat pick which is only protected 1-4 if I’ve read it right.

So here in Oklahoma City we should not only be hoping the Thunder can lose enough to maybe pick a Cade Cunningham or Evan Mobley with their own pick, but to also witness the Rockets implode to the point where that swap could conceivably land the Thunder another first round pick in the top half of the first round.

So I’m not really all that bummed the Thunder didn’t play tonight in Houston given the Rockets didn’t have eight players available for their home season opener.

While Trump was pardoning all of his friends mentioned in the Mueller Report…James Harden was setting the North American record for most lap dances ever during an NBA pre-season training camp. Hard to believe Harden has never received some sort of medal these last four years from the evangelical Pussy Grabber.

It must be a Houston thing. The Texans underacheive with stunning predictably. The cheating Houston Astros are a historical disgrace of Chicago Black Sox proportions. And now…James Harden’s dumbass piece of trash Houston Rockets are only outperformed in the dual arts of disgrace and debauchery by the human filth which inhabits the Trump White House.

In reality—it was a good night for Sam Presti and his rebuild here in Oklahoma as it appears the dumpster fire Rockets are on the cusp of unraveling and perhaps becoming a bottom third team in 2021.

Next up…the Thunder at the Charlotte Bobcats on December 26th.

Merry XMas!
