Lincoln Project’s Steven Schimdt On The State Of American Democracy

Steve Schmidt: Trump ‘Has Been Fired By The American People’ | Deadline | MSNBC – YouTube

Steve Schmidt was one of John McCain’s campaign managers in 2008. A lifetime Republican until Donald Trump leveraged the Republican Party….these were his thoughts on yesterday and the situation with GOP congressmen and attorney generals attempting a political coup de tat.

In short…in plain view of everyone… stealing an American presidential election with no evidence whatsoever from a legitimized conservative court the election results were problematic.

These were his thoughts.

I couldn’t have conveyed these thoughts into writing any better.

This is precisely why Oklahoma’s highest ranking law official in attorney general Mike Hunter should be ashamed of himself for taking part in this type of nonsense in order to curry some political favor from the wingnut crazies on the outer fringes of his own party. He should be ashamed of himself and maybe revisit why he went to law school in the first place.

It is within this realm of the Republican Party where the intertwined remnant sewage sludge of Donald Trump, Roger Stone, Paul Manafort, et al mixed with the political DNA imagery of Hugo Chavez in which every person who can read and somewhat values American democracy should all take great care moving forward.

GOP Finally Starts Shedding Away From Worst POTUS In American History

Inside the Night President Obama Took On Donald Trump | The Choice 2016 | FRONTLINE – YouTube

Historically what we’ll never know is if Trump would have run for president if President Barack Obama hadn’t humiliated him in front of the world during the D.C. Correspondents Dinner.

At some point…Obama had no choice. Trump kept going nonstop with the Birther bullshit. It’s embarrassing these people who call themselves the Trump base operate at such a low level, but at some point you have to draw a line in the sand.

Barack Obama drew a line in the sand and did the unthinkable to older, white America…he as a black man stood up in public in front of the world and spoke his mind. You don’t do that to that to the portions of white America who still live with the Jim Crow mentality. You just don’t do it.

I thought it was fine. I thought Obama should have gone even further. This is what should have happened to Donald Trump back when he was in high school…instead of being completely spoiled by his father. We all have to be put in our place at some time. Humility isn’t a bad thing.

So yesterday Attorney General Bill Barr finally decided he’d disgraced himself enough working for this piece of trash to a point he clouldn’t go any further and quit. Do any of you Trump supporters at this point acknowledge a repeat pattern here or is this just more fake news and deep state?

McConnell and some other GOP senators finally admitted Trump lost the election fair and square. In places like Oklahoma, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana…I’m not sure it will never be admitted Barack Obama is a legal citizen and that Trump lost this election.

This is the America we live in and have lived in for over 240 years.

Nothing has really changed in America in this regard.

My 2020 Person of the Year Award…James Clyburn

Rep. James Clyburn endorses Joe Biden ahead of South Carolina primary – YouTube

Joe Biden is literally crossing the threshold of the presidency as I write with the electors in California in essence making him our 46th president as his delegate mark goes beyond the 270 vote mark.

In 2019… I gave my Person of the Year Award collectively to the Washington Nationals who went on one of the most amazing post season runs in contemporary baseball history in winning a completely unexpected World Series by defeating the Milwaukee Brewers, St. Louis Cardinals, Los Angeles Dodgers, and the cheating Houston Astros in perhaps the most breathtaking sequence of post season baseball wins I’ve ever observed in my life.

It was stunning.

But this year the stakes were so much higher as the GOP, Fox Entertainment, and a pathetic cadre of Devin Nunes lowlite types…set out to put this dubious parasitic cochroach back in the White House for a second term.

Our democracy and our constitution were at stake.

Let’s roll back to the South Carolina primary where Joe Biden’s candidacy was literally on life support…as were the candidacies of Kamala Harris, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Michael Bloomberg, and Pete B.

It appeared the Democratic Party was about to become unhinged and fall all over itself again in running a candidate against the grifter human junk bond punk Donald Trump.

But at this critical inflection point of American history…Congressman Clyburn ecthed his place in American history by giving the speech I have linked above.

I’m certain most of Trump Nation never gave Clyburn’s speech a second thought. It had nothing to do with cheating, eating, avoiding military service, trolling John McCain, taunting handicapped people, not paying your creditors, or furniture store sport ‘shopping’ with Nancy O’Dell. The speech had nothing in it which would interest a typical Trump evangelical zealot.

But for those who study history and don’t get their facts from Fox Entertainment it was indeed a turning point in the historical election of 2020. A moment for introspection for a nation which needed one.

And for this reason …I’m making James Clyburn my 2020 Person of the Year.

Joe Biden Will Be Named POTUS Today By Electoral College

(52) Business Roundtable: Oklahoma Attorney General Mike Hunter – YouTube

Sometime today our national nightmare should be taking a turn towards getting rid of reality televison celebrity and twitter porn star Donald Trump.

Some off the record sources have indicated to me Trump will be joining the cast of Southern Charm and will be moving in with Shep and his miniature bulldog Little Craig in an effort to bolster sagging ratings. If you live in Oklahoma, Louisiana, Mississippi, or Alabama that was sarcasm, but in reality I think if Trump did move in with Shep and Little Craig it would help the show in a big way since Taylor is getting ready to blow off Shep and move in with Craig the custom pillow designer.

So the Electoral College will certify Joe Biden did indeed whip Donald Trump by the fifth largest margin in a presidential election since 1976 when Jimmy Carter beat Gerald Ford.

Our national disaster named Hurricane Donald will be heading into it’s final month and out to sea where we hope it stays for at least the end of my life.

Not sure how Vegas has Trump coming back in 2024…but I’d probably have it at 40% right now.

I would think the GOP Heritage Foundation types will be pushing Nikki Haley and Little Marco Rubio.

But with a wildcard like Trump no one really knows…not even him.

Mike Pence wouldn’t get out of the first month I don’t think.

You would think Lyin’ Ted Cruz should be done given he’s shown he has no spine whatsover and wouldn’t be able to stand up to Putin and other dangerous enenmies of democracy.

Maybe the college drop out real estate magnate Sean Hannity will run with Tucker Carlson as his running mate.

Who could know?

Above I posted a video of Oklahoma’s Attorney General Mike Hunter who unfornunately embarrassed himself by joining these other AG’s in supporting Trump’s latest bullshit lawsuit which was dismissed on Friday.

In truth…Hunter is a solid lawyer and not what I would describe as one of the typical Trump worshippers who dot the Oklahoma GOP landscape. I mean, Hunter came on board in Oklahoma state government with Frank Keating. Can anyone on this planet even envision Frank Keating in the Republican Party of 2020? I can’t. It doesn’t even regisister.

It’s a shame Hunter joined in on this bullshit lawsuit and didn’t finally do what Bill Barr did..namely act like a responsible agent of the court and do the right thing. I hope this doesn’t haunt him down the road.

Ironically…I think he’s actually a good attorney general who probably thought if he didn’t do this he’d be primaried by the Trump crazies in the GOP primary when he comes up for re-election. I have news for him…he was going to be primaried anyway in that he’s too moderate for them.

Anyway…bundle up and have a nice Monday morning.

Donald Trump’s Timeline Of COVID 19 Sequential Lies

(52) Trump’s Covid-19 Lies: A Timeline – YouTube

This isn’t exactly like breaking the DaVinci Code given our nine year-old president commits perjury at least eight times a day on camera. He seems to relish the act of perjury in public like a serial flasher gets off exposing himself.

The video timeline speaks for itself.

He should go home and feel fortunate he hasn’t been sentenced to prison already.

Theo Maledon First Preseason Game Highlights Mix

Theo Maledon First OKC THUNDER GAME vs Spurs | 20 POINTS – 5 REBOUNDS – 2 ASSISTS – YouTube

I don’t watch NBA preseason games. I just don’t. But I was perousing the Daily Thunder messageboard this morning and this video of rookie guard Theo Maledon was posted by ThunderLuke.. so I just thought I’d put it up over here because Maledon and the Skinny Serb are the two guys I’d be watching most if I did watch NBA preseason games.

No. 17 better start hitting the protein shakes in a very serious manner is my first thought beyond the fact Maledon might be a good player for the Thunder.

TLuke—thanks… you were always a nice kid and thanx for the video, buddy. Like TC—you just became a contributing editor over here at okcthunderground.com.

I was so emeshed watching the LSU stunning upset at Florida I honestly forgot the Thunder were playing the Spurs last night in San Antonio.

Must really suck to be a Florida Gator this morning. I’ve never seen a team lose a game for throwing a cleat off an opposing player up the field.

At John Marshall once in a game against the hated Midwest City Bombers… we once stole a glittering gold cleat off a Bomber at the bottom of a huge pile to seal a big win on the last play of a game. But we were smart about it and didn’t take a game altering penalty.

That kid was pathetic running off the field on one cleat, but we didn’t get a penalty. But he shouldn’t have been running his mouth all game. You have to draw a line in the sand at some point.

You youngsters at home…that’s the difference between playing smart winning ball and making a really stupid play which costs your team But everbody could use a glittery Midwest City Bomber gold cleat in their trophy case.

U.S. To Hit 300,000 Covid Deaths Today

(51) WATCH: Rep. Jeffries jokes about subpoenaing Baseball Hall of Fame over Jeter – YouTube

What an American tragedy which didn’t have to evolve in this manner to this degree. If only a competent adult had been occupying the most important political office in the world this threshold would not be something the country would be dealing with today.

If only a capable litigator like Hakeem Jeffries would have been given the power of voir dire and been able to select an impartial jury and present all of the evidence.

What if?

If you’ll recall the major theme from the fifty-three GOP senators was a presidential election was coming so why not allow the country to be the jury and we’ll accept their decision. That to a GOP senator was their defense of Donald Trump. Not that was he innocent. Not that he was competent or of sound mind. But that the country would be the jury.

Here’s the results of the jury…Joe Biden won the popular vote by over seven million votes and had the fifth highest Electoral College margin of victory since 1976 in a U.S Presidential Election.

It was an overwhelming verdict by the jury. Yet here we sit today still listening to this Mickey Mouse bullshit from Donald Trump and his seventy-four million enablers.

Let’s put this in historical perspective:

In the Civil War the Union suffered 364,511 deaths.

In World War I the U.S. suffered 116,516 deaths.

In World War II the U.S. suffered 405,399 deaths.

In the Vietnam War the U.S. suffered 58,000 deaths.

By the time we reach the end of February… I would estimate the U.S will have crossed the 410,000 COVID death threshold.

This isn’t funny. This isn’t like you 74 million people are watching an episode of Southern Charm on some goofy reality television show.

Allow me this analogy in closing…if your nine year old ask you for the the car keys and you gave them to him and he then proceeded to be involved in a fatal car accident…would you consider yourself liable for what happened?

Would you hold yourself responsible?

Surely there is some sense of justice and a thread of decency in your seventy-four million hearts at some point in all of this. Surely the grace of God will tell you what should be in your hearts and in your judgment.

Your Honor…I have nothing else to say at this time. Thank you for allowing me to speak to the Court in this manner.

Smerconish Saturday

I didn’t get to do Smerconish Saturday last week because I was in Denver hanging out with my grandson Little Robert. So…without any additional delay let’s get to Michael’s national poll question of the week.

Q: Will the Supreme Court’s decision to refuse to hear Trump’s cases in both Pennsylvania and Texas convince Trump’s base he lost the election?

Easy…you don’t have to be the Amazing Carnac to know how this vote went. With close to 30,000 people responding 94% said that regardless of the mostly conservative judges who comprise this Supreme Court the rulings will have virtually no effect on the Trump Base.

Like Trump himself, most Trump followers don’t read and almost exlusively get their news from Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Tucker Carlson.

It won’t matter. If Trump tells these people gravity is a hoax…then gravity is a hoax.

Any first week, first day law student knows that none of these Trump lawsuits have any merit or legal standing whatsoever. Have you noticed how Laura Ingram has pulled awy from this nonsense somewhat. She has a a law degree and was a New York attorney earlier in her professional life. Even she knows better.

It’s just sad we have 74 million in this country who have little if any inclination to research the truth.

And this is precisely why at some point the Blue States who generate 70% of GDP will at some point have to consider some unpleasant options moving forward.

You can’t have a championship hockey team when almost 50% of your roster is comprised of dimwits who can’t skate or think. Just saying. Same thing.

I’m going to go have a hot coffee and get ready to watch Cade Cunningham do his thing….and see if Mullet King can get a win over 2-7 Baylor.A

Have a nice Saturday.

After Dark

(51) The Cranberries – Linger Live From Vicar Street – YouTube G

I had to come back and remove the Mary Fallin video. That was too much of a cheap shot. I actually knew then Mary Copeland back at college when we met taking a night course in Real Estate Law. I was finishing my double major in History and Business Administration while she was working on her MBA. I think if I remember correctly she got her undergrad in Retail Fashion Merchandising at O State and her father was a rancher in eastern Oklahoma. Both really big on Reagan as I recall.

I never dreamed she’d become a two term governor, but give her credit I guess. It’s not like I see anyone on the horizon who could become governor in this state and reel in the uber red state legislature.

What an impossible job.

Any way I remembered I owed my friend TC a song for being so nice to send me her homemade Steven Adams farewell video.

So have a nice week-end and Go Cade Cunningham!

Sean Hannity and Captain Bone Spurs…Please Take the Shithole States and Assume Their Economic Dependency

Okay….the college drop outs and Captain Bone Spurs are now hinting they’d be happier being the Confederacy again. I’ve read the list now and there’s seventeen states of which fourteen are cash flow losers. Deadbeats who like the weaker countries in NATO who can’t or don’t pay their share of the economic burden.

Florida, Texas, and maybe South Carolina because of coastal national defense considerations are on my keeper list. And, of course Texas because we’re at some point going to monetize their oil and natural gas.

I’m not sure what I would do with Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, and South Dakota. More contemplation is needed what to do with these people and their state sovernity….case by case. Maybe some sort of joint venture with the Canadians would be the way to go with these four ‘states’.

The other ten states squarely fall in the shithole dumpster fire Tiger King category because of their educational systems and the lack of economic diversity to ever become at the least cash flow break even propositions.

This list of ten includes Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, and Kentucky.

In reality I’m not sure why these ‘territories’ warrant statehood status where they create legislative gridlock in the House and the Senate. If a state cannot pull its own economic weight then why should it have Congressional representation? I’ve always been bothered by this. Why would any busniesss allow it’s weakest dimwits to have any say in running the company. What CEO in his or her right mind would do this?

Again…this is a simple economic Darwinian question…if you as a territory or state cannot pull your economic link on the chain then why should you have a vote in the United States Senate? Do Puerto Rico, Guam, or the Virgin Islands have repersentation in the U.S. Senate?

I can’t think of one reason this should be so.

On my next template of getting rid these perrennial cash flow losers –the first thing we should probably do is specify United States ownership in the seventeen states per military installations and bases. Much like we make decisisons regarding ISIS and other terrorists groups around the world where we have military bases to protect U.S. interests.

This will be the tricky part. What do we do with the trouble makers who refuse to move into the 21st century?

What do we do with these angry regressive white people who behave as if Calvin Coolidge or Herbert Hoover are still presiding over the Gilded Age?

I may work on this some more before the next edition of Smerconish Saturday.

This inability to govern cannot continue. It’s that simple. This is where the winners should buy out the losers and remove them from the decision making process on our more serious national issues.

Have a nice week-end.

God bless the United States of America…even if we need to shed a few.
