The Washington Nationals and New York Yankees took a knee..as did the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants before their season openers.

It’s a shame Trump divided the country when Colin Kaepernick made his intial protests in regards to social injustice.

It was never about the lack of patriotism or disregard for the national anthem.

It was about black people being murdered by police officers.

I think back to the video I posted of Tim Scott the black senator from South Carolina stating he was stopped seven times for driving too nice of a car in the wrong neighborhood.

I also think back to Trump’s inaugural address in which he toted the Steve Bannon/Steven Miller racist bullshit to give his base what they wanted.

The whole thing is just so sad and pathetic. So completely irresponsible.

There are 330 million Americans. Sixty million voted for Trump. Two hundred and seventy million didn’t vote for the founder of the poser Trump University.

This from the president who’s daddy Fred Trump got his son some strings pulled to avoid serving his country because of bone spurs.

What a truely courageous president we have.

Colin Kaepernick kneeled and got blackballed by the NFL. Donald Trump lied about his physical fitness to serve his country and became our 45th president.

I wonder why black people across this country feel there’s a double standard.

I don’t know if these are Andre’s ten greatest plays, but it’s a sampling of what Andre Roberson can do on a basketball court as an athlete with a unique skill set.

Andre played some against the Celtics on Friday in the Thunder’s win over the Celtics and did some good things.

I’m sure it’s a process for sure with Andre’s mobility, but it was a first step for Andre as he continues to try and make a comeback from his patella injury in Detroit way back when our lives were normal.

I don’t know percentage wise what the doctors have told Andre he can get back, but I know when he was healthy he was a unique player in a league which quite frankly has become not all that much more than a three point shooting contest.

Shaun Livingston salvaged his career and won a couple of rings with Golden State after his horrific knee injury. It took time though. Andre will have to morph his game and stay healthy.

Could one ever imagine a healthy Andre and Lu Dort on the floor together?

Just the thought of that possibility makes the TSN in my basketball soul tingle.

Does the NBA even allow two players from the same team to play hard defensively on the court together in regular season games?

Stay healthy and fly again, Andre.

My three favorite Thunder players of all-time are in this order…1 Nick Collison, 2 Andre Roberson, and 3 Steven Adams.

All three are or were role players. None were or will ever be in the star stratus of the the NBA.

I love Andre Roberson not only for the way he plays the game, but the manner in which he conducts himself off the basketball court.

Somebody raised this young man the right way.

Other than his free throw shooting… he can play the game on both ends. He’s tough. He’s smart. He runs the court well in transition. He moves well without the ball on back cuts as well. But most of all he’s all about team every second he’s on the floor.

Andre Roberson could be on my basketbakll or hockey team any time he wants to be. He’d be a hell of a hockey player. A forechecking winger who would relentlessly forecheck the other team into submission. Andre would be a premier penalty kill specialist. He would be something on skates with his mindset.

And he doesn’t back down from anybody. Which I absolutely love.

I love Andre Roberson. I love what he stands for and the guts he’s shown after the horrible patella injury in Detroit which we all thought ended his NBA playing career.

There’s talk from the Thunder camp that Andre isn’t done. I hope this plays out that way for Andre.

The kid has courage and guts. Just by getting back this far from that horrible injury he’s already a winner in my eyes.

Good luck, Andre. Don’t give up on your dream.

This was on October 31st, 2019 as the Washingfton Nationals won their improbable first ever World Series over the cheating Houston Astros in Game 7.

So if I understand this correctly major league baseball gets its sixty game regular season untracked this week-end.

I usually don’t start watching baseball till late August so for me this will be fine.

What a World Series for the ages last October. No more Anthony Rendon for the Nats, but they still have a very capable baseball team with the best starting pitching in baseball.

This will be good for me to go along with watching some NBA games. I just don’t see how college football is going to be a go, but we’ll see.

The OU-Army game in New York is definitely a scratch. The Texas State Fair is cancelled as well. Those two game venues were probably along with Bedlam going to be the best two games of the OU season.

It will be good for the country to have the Boys of Summer back playing real games again. Just anything to watch beyond Trump’s daily routine.

For the cheating Houston Astros…this is actually good for them in that the games will be fanless and I would think they would have been booed in every city in the league this season.

It will be interesting to see how many knockdown balls are thrown at Jose Altuve.

In case you didn’t follow the scandal this past off season this is what the Astros did dating back to 2017. I think their 2017 title should have been taken away and awarded to the Dodgers so as Clayton Kershaw could mercifully get his World Series ring.

I have nothing else at this time, Your Honor. But if the Court will indulge we will revisit this if the Court will patiently deal with the truth being adressed at some point within the borders of places like Oklahoma, Alabama, Louisiana, and Kentucky.

So…on Saturday one day after the Oklahoma City Council by a 7-2 vote supported the wearing on facemasks in certain public settings… I found myself in a convenience store in Logan County late in the day.

I went in with my Thunder mask on as I did all day in Oklahoma County where I would say around eighty per cent or so were wearing masks as well.

Not one person in that Logan County store beyond me was wearing a mask. Not even the employees. They looked at me as if I were ET phoning home.

I thought about making several comments, but thought me saying something stupid in Logan County wouldn’t be the smart play.

But here’s the point I’m somewhat making. In the godforsaken state of Oklahoma if a person isn’t in Oklahoma City, Norman, or Tulsa is there any reason to believe math, science, history, economics, or just basic common sense makes any difference whatsoever?

And then I’m thinking to myself of Mike Gundy wearing that OAN Trump ass kissing shirt. Mike Gundy..just be man enough to be open about who and what you are. Jim Traber does it every single day on the radio.

In Oklahoma why isn’t Mike Gundy the open face of the Trump supporters in Oklahoma like Tommy Tuberville is in equally godforsaken Alabama?

Why is it a scrawny little old woman like Terry Neese is this person in Oklahoma and it’s not Mike Gundy or at the least Gundy’s good buddy Jim Traber?

It doesn’t make any sense to me.

To me at least…Gundy is the perfect fit in Oklahoma. He should be the face of Trump Nation in Oklahoma. Not Terry Neese, not Stephanie Bice, not James Lankford, not Kevin Stitt. It should be Mike Gundy the Mullet King.

He makes $5.25 million a year even though he would be 1-14 against some really bad OU defensive teams unless Bob Stoops had repunted to Tyreke Hill in 2014. That means Brandon Weeden was 1-0 versus the Sooners. How come he didn’t get $5.25 million from Boone? Just thinking out loud here on the blog.

BTW…I think Gundy has potentially his second best team at O State this season. I have O State as the team most likely to finish second in the Big 12 if there is a season.

But here’s the thing nagging at me…if Mike Gundy is smart enough to garner $5.25 million a year from Carl Icahn’s buddy Boone Pickens at Oklahoma State then just imagine the deals he could garner for the state of Oklahoma?

It just seems odd to me Mike Gundy isn’t in Oklahoma what Tommy Tuberville is in Alabama.

Maybe after we see Hubbard and Wallace go pro Mike Gundy will become Tommy Tuberville in the seventy-four counties in Oklahoma where people don’t believe in math, science, economics, or history.

We’ll see.

This should be Mike Gundy’s ad. Not a doubt in my mind.

If Hitler was on the ballot in Oklahoma, Alabama, Louisiana, and Kentucky listed with an R next to his name he’d garner around 65% of the vote in those four states.

You know…Hitler was immently qualified in that he’d previously had a reality television show and done an Access Hollywood show with Billy Bush.

These people aren’t leaving Donald Trump.

It doesn’t matter how many people die from the virus or how many trillions are wasted from the U.S. treasury.

I repeat…these people aren’t leaving Donald Trump for Joe Biden.

Maybe if Joe Biden named Nikki Haley as his running mate some of this might change. Maybe.

There is not a Republican Party any longer. It died along with John McCain, Bush 41, Ronald Reagan, and Gerald Ford.

Polls mean nothing with Donald Trump because this is Richard Nixon’s ‘Silent Majority’ circa 2020. The Trump base has made it clear black people need to know their place. That being…in the OU, O-State, Auburn, or Alabama backfield.

Racism is a big part of the Trump allure with these people. If I’m wrong then tell me why Trump went out his way to be endorsed by Jeff Sessions in 2016. Tell me why Tommy Tuberville just whomped the same Jeff Sessions in the GOP runoff in Alabama after attaching himself to Trump ala Kevin Stitt. Explain it to me.

Because with these people they’d vote for Hitler if he was aligned with Donald Trump. Period.

Math, science, history, economics, qualifications don’t matter.

It is about Trump with these people and to be frank Joe Biden is every bit as uncompelling as Hillary Clinton. If he was a compelling candidate then Barack Obama never would have been the candidate in 2008. Same with Hillary.

When I went to the Michael Bloomberg rally in OKC surrogate Judge Judy said, “Joe Biden is a really, really nice guy. But….” She didn’t finish the sentence. She didn’t have to.

There are two completely different countries within the borders of the United States. One reads books and has a higher college graduation rate, the other does what Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh tell them to do.

I don’t think the election is over at all.

It hasn’t even begun.

Today’s question was: Is the election over?

We know it’s already over in predictable forts of stupidity like Oklahoma, Alabama, Kentucky, and Louisiana. My top four forts of stupidity in the Union on my Power Poll….btw.

But is the election already decided in the other forty-six states as well?

I’m going to think about this all day and then write my own Op-Ed on the election per July 19th, 2020.

When you live in a place like Oklahoma you take note of humans such as John Lewis. You take note of what they fought for and the causes they held close to their heart.

Has the United States really come anywhere racially since the Silent Majority days of Richard Nixon?

I would say no for the most part.

Was Barack Obama elected because he was black or because the presidency of Bush 43 was a historical dumpster fire of epic proportions?

Outside of Norman and pockets of Oklahoma City…I see no evidence in Oklahoma blacks have crossed the necessary barriers to equally participate in the American Dream.

The world in states like Oklahoma hasn’t really changed for blacks unless they can help OU or Oklahoma State win football and/or basketball games.

I do think the Thunder have helped Oklahoma City become more intuned to racial inequality. Just today the Oklahoma City Council overrode the idiot Trump puppet Kevin Stitt as far as wearing facial masks throughout the city. All white people in Oklahoma are not racist pr overtly ignorant.

But Oklahoma on the whole is such a shithole embarrassment. Such a sad story of unused potential and wasted opportunities to you know…grow up.

My wife is spending this week in Kure Beach. Maybe this is where we will eventually escape from braindead Oklahoma. We’ll both be going in late October to see what real estate possibilities exist.

This is someplace where I could conceivably live short of having to escape the country where Terry Neese protects Donald Trump and go live in Toronto. I’m telling you…if it weren’t for the harsh winters…Toronto is the most intersting city I’ve ever spent a week in and around. You have to spend a week in Toronto. It has everything.

Of course…North Carolina has an NHL team, an NFL team, and an NBA team. Fishing, seafood, a politically neutral state somewhat. Obama actually won the state. Imagine not having living in state where Hitler would win all seventy-seven counties.

Maybe my buddy Walter would drive down from Maryland and visit here and there and we’d talk about the Washington Nationals.

Duke and North Carolina basketball. I could live in North Carolina. It could fit me.

My wife is visting the aquarium tomorrow.
