Just add this one to the Caligula’s Best Whoppers List. His trekkie groupies don’t want to admit this, but their boy is a savant at the art of pathological lying. I put him right up there with George Constanza as the Master of Lying.
He’s just the most pathological liar ever seen. Even Nixon in his hey day couldn’t hang with Caligula. Not even George. He has no conscious whatsoever and he knows these dumbasses who support him don’t even care when he lies brazenly.
With a core of Westbrook-Adams the Thunder has a solid twosome to build a team around. OKC won forty-seven games this season and could have easily won fifty games.
I’m very interested to see what transpires tomorrow with the Thunder’s teambuilding. To me, a wing player who can consistently come into the game and provide offense is a must. Russell Westbrook needs a wing he can kick out to and see the ball drained.
I’m not sure how strong Presti still is on Oladipo, but again I’m very interested to see what happens tomorrow night. To contend in the West a team must somewhat be structured to score with Golden State, San Antonio, and Houston. You gotta score with them to be competitive.
I’ve enjoyed the down time away from the Thunder. Stanley Cup Playoffs were superb. Russiagate is always pulsating. Trump need to re-inject Billy Bush into the Russian yarn though. Plus, my son has turned me into an OKC Dodgers fan. If you don’t know who Willie Calhoun is you better go down to Bricktown and see him play before he heads off for the bigs. Kid has a beautiful swing. Kind of reminds me of Joe Morgan in that he plays second base and bats left. Doesn’t do the chicken wing though. My Pirates are awful, but my second favorite team the Houston Astros have been really good.
I’m kind of excited about tomorrow night as in what Sam Presti is going to do with this basketball team. Get a scorer, Sam Presti.
There’s a new Westbrook in town. His name is Noah and he looks just like his dad. Kevin Durant, assisted by his mother, showered Russell’s son with baby gifts. Very nice gesture and maybe almost one year after Durant’s departure maybe these two will resume their friendship. Time usually heals and one would hope the booing of Durant never happens again in OKC.
In the year which passed, Kevin won a ring and a Finals’ MVP, while Russ broke Oscar’s triple double record and will probably win the regular season MVP on June 26th. All told, they both had incredible seasons.
As a basketball fan, I’m still hopeful Kevin doesn’t stay in Oakland and perhaps goes to a place like Boston to win another ring in a more legitimate setting. I just think it would be better for the league and the sport as a whole. Plus, I think it would be the final piece to Durant’s incredible legacy.
The NBA draft is tomorrow night. The Thunder have the 21st pick. I have no idea who the Thunder will select. A nice two-way wing would be nice.
Officially—Jeff Sessions is now lawyered up for his role in Russiagate. This is why we as taxpayers build federal prisons. Maybe he and Flynn can share a cell.
Five months into this and not one tangible piece of legislature has been passed or appears near to being passed. Mike Flynn was fired twenty-four days in, not long after, Sally Yates was fired. Then of course, James Comey was fired. Jeff Sessions had to recuse himself from Russiagate, and just this week Mike Pence had to get himself lawyered up. Multiple people associated with the stench of this administration will be getting lawyered up as each days passes forward from this point. Even Newt Gingrich of all people admitted people will be going to jail.
Layers upon layers of government jobs are not being able to be filled simply because even Republicans at this point don’t want their careers disgraced by being associated with this president.
Caligula now has the lowest approval rating ever of a U.S. president five months in. In the past month alone his approval rating just among Republicans has plummeted 17 points. I mention this because it will have to be Republicans who at some point display some integrity as Americans and put country above partisanship as this thing careens towards a Watergate ending or worse.
If you’re a person still defending Donald Trump–then in a way I kind of feel sorry for you. Party trumps country with you evidently–pardon the multiple puns.
As I watched this video the two people I thought most of were Mattis and Tillerson. Mattis was the lone person in the room who actually had enough gumption to not lick Donald Trump’s balls. Mattis along with McMaster appears to be the firewall between Caligula and things becoming much worse. Pray for them and our country as well.
Tillerson…what an enormous embarrassment. I feel sorry for him. He didn’t even want to become Secretary of State. His wife made him do it. She claimed God had a new mission for them which went beyond Exxon stock. He should have ignored his wife and gone home to be near his grandchildren.
Jeff Sessions… how did he ever get through law school? I was raised by a trial lawyer, been around lawyers my whole life, to date I’ve never observed one as stupid as Jeff Sessions. I love his voice though…it’s like listening to Forest Gump try to talk about the law. But I’ll say this…he’s the one I have circled who Mueller might flip the easiest and become the John Dean of the bunch.
It doesn’t matter what your party affiliation is or your ideology at this point. If you’re an American and you love this country you should be praying some people near the top of our government can do the right things at some point beyond just hoping to get a tax break for our wealthiest people and getting Neil Gorsuch confirmed on the Supreme Court.
Even the bloggers in Columbia know better. White people in the New Confederacy…not so much. Somebody make this kid Secretary of State or Attorney General. It would be an upgrade.
Yes, stupid fuck, we do now indeed have a crooked rogue piece of shit president who can’t get anything done because he is the very center of multiple felonly criminal probes being conducted by Robert Mueller. And, yes, stupid fuck, with you clearly at the helm America does indeed have the look of a gongable banana republic with your hapless ass running the show. One might wonder how this laughably dumb motherfucker could find his own dick with his right hand in a dark room.
So, in honor of our total piece of shit crooked con artist rogue president……
Caligula should get rid of Sean Spicer and replace him with Doris Burke. If she could elicit drama at the end of these NBA Finals, then I’m almost certain she could make Russiagate go away for Caligula Light. I don’t know if she was tossing back vodka shots during Game 5 and just got sloppy drunk, but if she can pull this off then she should be Trumpula’s press secretary. No wonder Barkley made the move to hockey.
No big surprise. It’s what we all knew would happen back on July 4th, 2016 after reading of Durant’s departure to the Warriors in the Player’s Tribune. This won’t be Kevin Durant’s only ring if he, Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Andre Iguodala stay together. This is a dynasty of draconian proportions in this salary cap age of the NBA.
Putting aside the other twenty-eight teams in the league, I’m not really sure how LeBron can beat these guys. LeBron James played superbly in these Finals and his team won but one game. The talent gap between these Warriors and the rest of the league is immense. Maybe Adam Silver will have to devise a B Flight champion to give us NBA fans some sense of emotional competitive connection to the league and its seasons moving forward.
I sat dumbfounded watching Doris Burke do her postgame interviews. She appeared to be crying. Why? There was no drama attached to this championship whatsoever. The only drama attached came way back when in the Hamptons when the Warriors won the Kevin Durant lottery.
Kevin Durant is a beautiful basketball player. I watched him play at the University of Texas and I watched every game he played as a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder. He’s a generational player who through hard work has turned himself into an utterly complete basketball player. Plus, I don’t think he’s a bad dude. He was good to the people of Oklahoma. Always polite, always generous with the community, and an easy interview for the local OKC scribes who’d never covered the NBA until the Sonics were moved to Oklahoma City.
I have no problem whatsoever that he left. The words ‘free agent’ imply just that–the freedom to play wherever you want. I’m happy he won a ring, but sad that he ruined the league in doing so by going to the talent laden Warriors. As a fan of the league, it somewhat diminishes the interest of the overall league although from what I’ve read the NBA’s post season television ratings were good.
So while I’m happy Kevin Durant has his ring, I’m sad for the league and the fans of the other twenty-nine teams who pay money for tickets attached to the hope of competitive emotional involvement in a basketball season.
There won’t be any of that with these Warriors intact. Someone please tell Doris Burke there won’t be any need for crying next June unless she’s going to be crying for the fans of the other twenty-nine teams.
Just a great hockey game tonight in Nashville as the Penguins won the Cup for the second straight season with a spellbinding 2-0 win in Game 6. Nothing came easy for the Penguins this post season as they had to struggle through all four rounds of the playoffs, but when it came to crunch time they always responded like champions.
Patrick Hornquist, a former Pred no less, scored the game winner with 1:35 left in the third off an assist from the point by Justin Schultz. Carl Haglin secured the win with an empty net insurance goal. Rookie netminder Matt Murray was stellar with his second straight shutout, and Sid Crosby showed why he’s the league’s best player with a repeat as the Conn Smythe winner as the outstanding player in the playoffs.
A fitting repeat for this storied franchise as they won their fifth Stanley Cup in the salary cap era. The Pens have a great owner in Mario Lemieux and the perfect head coach in Mike Sullivan. And, of course, they have the best hockey player on the planet in Sid Crosby.
These Pens become the first team in the NHL to repeat since the Detroit Red Wings did it in ’97-’98.
From start to finish these Stanley Cup Playoffs were outstanding. Hopefully, Adam Silver along with Charles Barkley was watching.
Of the four major sports, I don’t think it’s hyperbole to state Sidney Crosby now stands at the top of the mountain. I’d go LeBron second, Tom Brady third, and I’m not sure who in baseball it would be.
