Jerry West Reflects on Kobe

This was beautiful. This will be a good place for me to bring my tribute to Kobe to a pause for the time being. This interview speaks for itself.

  1. thanks for sharing the Kobe testimonials. He predates my attention to BB yet I get what an amazing person he was.

  2. He spoke several languages. He would have been an excellent ambassador for the Gates Foundation. He was as beloved in China and abroad as he was in LA. But in my view what made him special was how he got his life together after the 2003 incident in Colorado and put his life on the right track.

He didn’t do what Tiger did in losing his family. Plus, Kobe was the best interview in the NBA. Even in godforsaken Oklahoma…Kobe took the time to answer to our local college media types and patiently answer their questions.

I could have seen Kobe at some point becoming president of California once they finally decide to secede from the Union and propping up states like Oklahoma with their tax revenue.

I would guess maybe no more than 5% of Oklahomans even realize the state is a negative sum state as far as federal revenue tax dollars.

It’s sad I was fully expecting him at some point Kobe would be cast in a Quinton Tarantino movie and of course win his second Oscar. He was that kind of a driven person.

I wonder how Klay’s knee is coming along? I’ve missed watching him play this season. It will be interesting to see the Warriors’ roster next September. The three main guys needed a break. They played a ton of basketball minutes the last five years.

    Love, Mike
