CO2 Emissions Down 30% Since February 1st

So….is this what the world would look like if Bernie Sanders was to be elected and somehow get his Green Deal passed by the U.S. Senate?

Obviously…if you believe in science you realize there is climate change, but the real question is how does the world transition energy sources in an incremental manner which doesn’t do to the world economies as to what the coronavirus has done in less than two months.

As much as I’d like to blame the Pussy Grabber for everything, I can’t because that wouldn’t be honest or objective writing. Besides, he’s really only Mitch McConnell’s puppet.

China not burning coal during the past six weeks at its normal pace has been a boon for cleaning up the world’s atmosphere. If the world was to do the first thing in what was the Paris Climate Accord…the first thing which would help the world’s atmosphere is to get rid of coal as an energy source.

But you can’t go about this like crazy Bernie Sanders. This will require deft nuance, which BTW could have been helpful from Donald Trump the past month as he accelerated the virus in North America through his stupidity at his press conferences.

I would think you increase the role of natural gas and come to terms with how much you can and can’t do with solar, wind, nuclear, and electric…. and come to some realistic conclusions regarding energy, economies, and the world’s global carbon footprint.

Under my plan this doesn’t happen overnight or in one election. This happens where the world gradually and beyond my lifetime phases down the rate of which it uses oil to fuel the world economies.

So think about today in America. The airlines, which are a major abuser of carbon, are basically shut down. People in certain parts of the country are hunkered down in their homes not consuming products or services as they’ve watched the Dow go down by 30%.

The U.S. economy is the world’s largest consumer. So if you followed either Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warrens’ plans and you cratered the world’s largest economy where would you pay for all of your grandiose visions? Is this America we see this week your template?

This is too deep for Donald Trump. He doesn’t view the world like this. He sees the world in incremental units of pussy, McDonald’s hamburgers, kicked golf balls out of the rough, and snarky tweets.

This is why I thought Michael Bloomberg or Michael Bennett would have been good choices. This is an unusual time in our history when we need to pivot in a very well thought out manner.

So we sit and watch this week in America as the GOP Senate will grapple with their own version of TARP circa 2008. We’ll see what the the fifty-three GOP senators can agree with after they could have taken a major step to clean up the world over a month ago if they’d just had the balls to dump Donald Trump.

I have to wonder what thoughts are running through the minds of Mitch McConnell, Lindsey Graham, Lamar Alexander, Susan Collins, Cory Gardner and others as they’ve observed the complete abdication of U.S. presidential leadership in the past month.

It should be a week for a serious reflection for all Americans. But how ironic it is that the world’s greatest climate change denier in Donald Trump has done much more than Obama ever did for the atmosphere simply by helping to crater the world’s largest consuming economy.

Go figure.
