After Dark

Just your basic Friday. My truck caught on fire. Two black women helped me put it out and there virtually was no damage.

One of the black women said, “Your truck appears to be on fire underneath. Here…we’ll help.” The fact this act of kindness took place from two black women in Edmond just floors me. This was an epiphany of sorts for me. There is goodness in the world.

This was clearly some sort of sign from God. There is kindness in Edmond, Oklahoma despite some of the things I’ve seen.

That’s all I have right now.

  1. Wow – that is a message from God! Big thanks to those women and maybe my dad was looking down on you. He loved that truck.

  2. Your brother played a role as well. He was counseling me via cell as this was occurring. He told me to get away from the truck, but I said, “I don’t think so, big boy.” I was like George approaching the whale with the golf ball in its blowhole. I was determined to save the truck.

With a hose one of the women handed me I went under the frame of ‘the beast’ and started dousing the fire. Amazingly—the fire did nothing except some minimal damage to the frame and my right hand.

The truck was towed in and some minor work was done. I drove it today for a normal workday proudly displaying your father’s Purple Heart decal on the windshield. Of course we know Trump never won a Purple Heart because he had ‘bone spurs’. Like George with the whale…I must say I went into a superhuman state of sorts and saved the truck.

I’ve wondered if maybe a Trump malcontent who had seen my Putin-trump sign in my truck may have had something to do with this given our 5th Congressional primaries are on Tuesday. Lord knows what a Terry Neese supporter would do if they saw the Putin sign.

Truck is driving as well as ever. God bless, America.

    Love, Mike

  3. So glad you are ok, hope your hand is healing, and that the beast lives on. Pretty sure those women liked your sign.
