Election Eve

This election is basically for the soul of America moving forward. The rule of democracy and the hope for more decency.

I have no idea how it will go in the battleground states tomorrow once all the votes are counted. No one really does now or did they on the eve of the 2016 presidential election.

I don’t think polls calibrate Donald Trump and how he affects the fears of certain voting blocs.

We can only hope this isn’t a repeat of the courts deciding an election as was the case in the Bush-Gore election of 2000.

We’ve somewhat lost ourselves on what it means to be an American. We spend too much time arguing and not enough time listening to the concerns of one another.

Regardless of party affiliations we all need to experience an inflection point of remembering how fortunate we have been to be Americans.

Our country is the last great hope for democracy. For the freedoms and liberties which make America such a uniquely wonderful place to live.

We are all in this together so we might as well start learning how to live and govern together.

God bless our country.

  1. Maybe to some degree our national nightmare will be better. We still have a very divided country and all these Trump people will remain angry. I wonder if at some point if Kamala Harris will be alleged to have been born in Kenya. McConnell and Lindsey Graham both won easily which isn’t good….but predictable.

But at least the notion of democracy has held so far with no violence or the governor of a blue state being kidnapped by a white militia group.

So far our democracy has held despite Donald Trump. He is one of the most dubious humans I have have ever observed in my life.

Let’s go Georgia. A southern state going against Trump is an encouraging sign. Bill Clinton was the last Dem to win Georgia. Somebody needs to explain to the Trump people 62-64% of national tax revenues and GDP come from traditional blue states.

If Arizona holds and Pennslyvania goes to Biden the West coast blue wall has made it to the Rockies and the upper Midwest is blue once again.

When the total popular vote is tallied Biden will surpass Ronald Reagan’s total vote count in 1980. Texas should be the focus in the immediate future.
