I don’t write much about Supreme Court nominations because they’ve become nothing more than political partisan rituals which expose just how divided we are a country.
It’s become rare to even contemplate a nominee on the merit of their resume.
What the constituents want to hear is basically what’s at play. If it’s a blue state… you would guess the constituents would want a yes vote for Judge Jackson. If it’s red state like Oklahoma or Alabama…I’m sure James Lankford has been getting 80% of his calls telling him to vote no.
I pretty much ignore Supreme Court confirmation hearings. I do find it amusing though on this one the GOP senators are outraged over Judge Jackson’s judicial decorum and not at all concerned about the actions of Justice Clarence Thomas and his wife in regards of the January 6th attempt to overthrow an American presidential election.
Anyway…I thought in this day of political cynicism, Senator Booker’s aspirational speech was something I’d want on my blog.
