We are in the dog days of August here in Deer Creek, Oklahoma, but it won’t be long before NBA teams begin reporting to camp. This should be a tremendous NBA basketball season for this underground blogger.
These numbers above are the Vegas projected regular season win totals for Boston, OKC, and Denver. Obviously, with me living in Deer Creek and Denver….this portends for me a very special NBA basketball season.
Just today I wore my 2023 Denver Nugget ‘Ship ball cap to the gym. And it was a special day for me at the basketball court in that this was the first time since my Stage 4 diagnosis I was able to get on a court with the hoop set at the regulation ten foot mark and MAKE SHOTS!!!! It was joyous. See the Secretariat video coming.
Somehow…I’ve made it through two NBA seasons and one NBA Championship parade in Denver since my problem was diagnosed. I feel blessed, but you know, you get a little selfish and a little hubris and cancer gravitas going and MJ think there’s a chance he could possibly make it through another NBA season.
And what a dream season this could be for me. If it comes down to Denver and OKC…I’ll be for Denver. Denver in my heart is now my home city and my feelings for Jamal are pretty clear. Add to those facts one Russell Westbrook is now the Sixth Man in Denver.
I actually think Russell and Coach Mike Malone will be a nice fit. What Russell needs to be is what he was at UCLA…a smart defensive player who creates in transition and knows when not to chuck a bad three.
For me it would be the ultimate ending for Russell to be hoisting the O’Brien Cup in Denver. The perfect ending to Russell’s NBA Greek Tragedy….and for me as well if that’s what is in the cards for me.
Russell and I will be Kamala soulmates. One thing I always loved about Russell was the fact he hates Donald Trump even more than I do. You play that card in rural Oklahoma and there’s a good chance you’ll get shot this coming November. MJ don’t plan on too many rural Oklahoma caravans beyond November 6th.
And as for the Thunder…. with the additions of Caruso and Hartenstein they should be legit contenders. I do think though for this Hartenstein move to be a difference maker he needs to have a career season rebounding the basketball. Somewhere around 9.5 to 10 rebounds a game.
I have nothing but respect and admiration for Shai and his teammates. They are total class. Good luck to Josh in Chicago. Plus, Buddy Hield and Kyle Anderson are now at Golden State as well….and that’s kinda cool as well.
I thought this was an excellent Nugget podcast. These guys have a good feel. Saric and Russ are basically the bench come playoff time. Plus, Christian Braun has to elevate his game as a starter now that KCP is an Orlando Magic. Throw this into the mix as well… the player Russell probably hates the most in the NBA is the whiney bitch minimalist aka Reggie Jackson. I think Russell will be really, really motivated to fill the Bruce Brown role in Denver.
Uh…Russ, since I’m not on the payroll of the Trump fake Christian Thunder…let me help you with the elaboration part of what we both think of Donald Trump.
