Did the Thunder Cross a Bridge in Brooklyn?

Maybe.

Maybe not.

I’ve seen this shit before and then witnessed a relapse. I saw this in the Golden State series with the Thunder playing the best basketball in their existence and then revert into a flattened pumpkin. Never too high with Russell Westbrook, never allow yourself to be drowned by the subsequent emotional abyss which follows.

But is it possible Russell Westbrook crossed a bridge in Brooklyn?

It was amazing to witness. Billy Donovan called a sagacious timeout with eight seconds remaining. The team including Russell huddled around him. It was almost like that Jimmy Chitwood moment in Hoosiers. Only one thing, Billy D decided Jimmy Chitwood on this team may very well be wearing No. 13.

It was pristine basketball beautiful. The ball was passed inbounds. Westbrook didn’t immediately jack a bad three. Instead the ball swung to an open Paul George just right of the top of the key. He faked. Spencer Dimwiddie as him name implies foolishly left his feet and went beyond Paul George.

Paul George gazed at the rim as if he does this every game and swished the game winner.

Ballgame. Hickory wins the state championship.

So…we’ll see in the coming days and weeks if Russell Westbrook crossed a bridge. If he ever wants to win an NBA championship it’s time he not only crosses the bridge, but stays there.
