I got to know quite a few Canadians with my involvement in ice hockey. I pretty much for the most part respected all of them. Most of them are standup tough guys. Very proud men. And here’s what I would say to them before our 4 Team Championship Game in Boston on Thursday night.
I repeat…here’s what I would say, “There are around 330 million Americans. Only around 77 million ‘Americans’ voted for Trust Fund GrifterTrump. Trump never served his country because of the bunions. Bunions can be a bitch for Trust Fund Kids who have never had a day in their life where they had to worry about money…or survival…or basic life skills the rest of us have to learn.
He’s an asshole. The other 255 million or so Americans who didn’t vote for the convicted felon agree with you. But he doesn’t represent the vast majority of Americans. He doesn’t represent our collective soul.
I understand your frustration, but I wouldn’t boo our anthem, and I certainly hope we don’t boo your anthem tomorrow night as well.

The ancient Greeks had a word for what usually followed misplaced hubris. That word was ‘peripetia’, meaning a dramatic reversal of fortune. My guess is the hockey gods might be with you guys tomorrow night in Boston.
Boston’s best defenseman is a DNP. Just saying.

I have nothing but respect for our American players, but you know what….with all the stupid, misplaced hubris I’m witnessing in my country currently–maybe the laying down of some periptia wouldn’t be a bad thing for some Americans.
Being stupid, arrogant, ugly Americans in no way makes America Great Again. Not even close.
I love my USA hockey players. But know what… the America I’ve witnessed since the election is total nonsensical bullshit. I wonder if Team Canada wins the game if Trump will claim the game was stolen?
