I love Margaret and her show…Firing Line. I’m old enough and intellectually flexible enough to fondly remember the original Firing Line with William F Buckley as he dueled with the likes of Gore Vidal and other liberals. We don’t have anyone like those two nowadays, that much is for certain.
Well maybe, I shouldn’t say it…. but right here in Deer Creek on the blog from the mini-ranch you’ve got someone who could hang with Buckley and Vidal. Plus, the first time Buckley went off… I’d just punch him in the face.
BTW…vote for David Holt tomorrow in the mayoral election if you live in Oklahoma City.
My off the cuff guess is 80% of these dimwits in the MAGA movement haven’t read two books in their lifetimes and likewise don’t even know who Buckley and Vidal were. My additional guess would be this same 80% doesn’t know who George Will is, don’t know who owns the Wall Street Journal, have never read the Christian Science Monitor, and blindly accept Fox Network as a legitimate source of news.
I hate to be so brazenly blunt and to the point, but that’s just the way I see it— and this is my blog. So there. In Oklahoma…I may have even been generous for giving these MAGA dipshits credit for reading the before-mentioned ‘two books in their lifetimes’.
As I’ve embraced this day I’m stunned to discover that some actually thought the Bad Bunny halftime show was….good. It was trash and if this Super Bowl had been played anywhere but San Francisco I can’t imagine this would have been the manner in which to take on Donald Trump on the ICE crackdowns.
Donald Trump should be in federal prison for what he did on January 6th. I’ve never strayed from that sentence. But let me share this thought with you…if the Democratic Party had told Joe Biden he was not in any manner going to be the next nominee and the party had put forth a legitimate nomination process and put a candidate forward who couldn’t even make it into FIFTH PLACE in the 2020 Democratic primaries by the time the process reached South Carolina… maybe we wouldn’t even still be talking about Donald Trump.
Here’s how you liberals take on Donald Trump…you nominate a candidate who can win the SEVEN battleground states and ACTUALLY APPEALS to common sense, educated, pragmatic grownup people like me.
That’s how you take on Donald Trump…by winning the damn election. That’s how you acquire power in a democracy. Not by puttting a rapper on the stage as he gropes himself staggering around on the field of the Super Bowl.
